In recent years, there is growing recognition in health care, in the American workplace, and in wider society of the importance of addressing systemic issues and supporting individuals of all backgrounds by acknowledging and fostering the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Because a person’s racial or ethnic identity, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, or other personal factors can play a significant role in health outcomes, PRC’s community health research highlights health disparities that could benefit from such DEI-focused efforts to promote health equity.
